Tom Clark teaching young offenders how to carve stone.

Teaching young offenders and members of the public how to carve stone. We also informed people about the Way markers which will be made over the next Year and sited along City Road.

29/01/2010 Tom & Tom went up to the Johnson’s quarry to buy the stone required for the cemetery sculptures and library sculpture. The image shown is an 8 ton block which will be sawn to make the library sculpture

This Saturday 30/01/2010 myself (Thomas Kenrick) and Tom Clark will be teaching and demonstrating Stone Carving at Green Estate’s York House next to the old Travelers Rest pub which is now a shop. Green Estates are running an event called “Name your Park” (referring to Deep Pits Park as some call it)  I am not to sure what other events are running on Saturday but there was definitely talk of a hog roast.

If you or anyone you may know are interested in stone carving please come down and have a go. We will be there all day however the morning seems to be booked up with people carving so the afternoon maybe the best time to come along.
